How to cook your catch:

Here is my favorite way to prepare Trout and Salmon

Ingredients you’ll need:

Trout or Salmon Filet

Foil

Salt and Pepper

Cajun Seasoning

Tarragon

Lemon Juice

Olive Oil

Prep

Preheat grill or oven to 375 degrees

Place filet, skin side down, on foil sheet

Rinse and pat dry one filet

Season with ingredients listed above

Sprinkle lemon juice on filet

Drizzle olive oil on filet

Wrap filet with edges of foil making sure the filet is covered (to steam)

Place on grill (med heat) or in oven and cook for 5-10 minutes (depending on the size)

The fish is cooked when it turns color and starts to flake

DO NOT OVERCOOK! It is easy to over cook your catch. I like to pull mine off the grill when it is not quite done. The heat and steam in the pocket of the foil will allow the fish to finish cooking through.

Remove the skin by flipping the filet over. It should peel right off (feed to cat or dog – they love it!)

Plate up and enjoy!

Common side dishes I like with my fish are wild rice with steamed veggies and sautéed onion and mushrooms, but feel free to get creative!
